Benefits
Warm, comfortable & supportive
MaxiBed makes a warm and comfortable bedding layer retaining warmth and offering good insulation from the floor beneath the bed. It also stays friable meaning the surface layer does not tend to cake together like other bedding materials, allowing animals to move the material around to form a comfortable and supportive bed.
Dust extracted
MaxiBed is made from recovered wood fibre which unlike other types of raw materials used in the manufacture of bedding material is low in dust from the outset. All remaining fine dust is extracted during the manufacturing process which makes MaxiBed ideal for use with animals who are sensitive to dust allergies and respiratory conditions.
Keeps dry on top and free draining
MaxiBed is made of wood chips, not flakes or shavings. Wood chips are chunkier in cross section and are irregular in shape. This allows moisture to drain freely through the bed keeping the surface layer nice and dry on top.
Quick & easy to muck out
A MaxiBed bed is really easy to maintain. Muck can simply be lifted straight off the surface leaving the bed beneath undisturbed. This means less MaxiBed is then required to replenish and maintain the bed.
Reduced wastage
Because the mucking out process removes mainly the muck and not the MaxiBed, the amount of bedding material wastage is greatly reduced. This results in a smaller muck heap, compost heap or less trips to the recycling centre.
Biodegradable
After use MaxiBed can be disposed of in the same way as other traditional forms of bedding, however if you are making a muck heap MaxiBed is much less likely to blow about in the wind and easier to form a muck heap with. It will also rot down nicely and can be used to spread on land or plough in to condition soil structure.
